After 18:30, as well as on holidays and weekends, all trips are considered within 1 zone, regardless of how many stations the passenger traveled. Additional charges may apply, depending on the metro area.

Ticket price is divided into 2 types: adult and concession. The second category includes passengers aged 5–13 years, 14–19 years old with a GoCard card, people over the age of 65, people with disabilities and those who accompany them. Children under 5 years old use the metro for free. For an adult ticket you will have to pay approximately $ 2.75 in the range of 1 zone. A ticket can be bought at the terminals that are at the entrances to the subway. You can buy a travel card. Several types of travel are offered. The travel price for the trip is less.

Features

The peculiarity – there is no control system for passengers by their movement on tickets. There are no restrictive structures in the subway – there are no turnstiles. Occasionally tickets are checked in the subway, but not with all passengers. Checks are carried out by metro controllers. Due to the fact that there is no complete check of tickets, the Vancouver metro loses a lot of money, because many people do not pay at all. But the metro leadership believes that the cost of monitoring equipment, its installation will be very expensive – more expensive than the losses that people who use the metro without tickets cause. For movement without a ticket, the fine is $ 173.
